Abstract

This chapter is about to discuss the importance of Software Product Line (SPL); addressing the software project design with the implementation of product line concepts to meet the customers demands for the production of high quality software applications in shortest possible time, within low budget and using less number of resources. In this chapter, along with presenting the contributing factors we discuss some existing SPL issues, due to the increase in additional level of complexity, the potential productivity and growth may diminish. Explaining our contributions for the subject, we present an approach towards the quantitative software project analysis, measurement and visualization. Proving the strengths of discussed solution, we perform an experiment using a real time SPL application as data set and comprehensively present obtained results in this chapter.
