Contribute to a Book

Authors interested in publishing their research in one of our up-coming book projects are welcome to submit their work to us for consideration. Our books are published as fully searchable e-books and as high-quality printed books. We offer the best of both worlds.

Our books cover original research. They are collections of reviewed scholarly contributions usually written by multiple authors and are edited by scholars with related expertise. Each scholarly contribution represents one chapter, and each chapter is complete but is related to the overarching topics and objectives of the book. A book chapter usually has 16-38 pages. The books are addressed to practicing professionals and researchers, professionals in the academia, former researchers and Ph.D. students, and other specialists.

4-Step Submission Guidelines

Step 1: Preparation

  1. Understand the Costs and Funding Options

All books are available as open access after 10 months when it is first published. Our books are open access. Open access means that publications are available to the public online for free. But open access publishing is not without costs. As an social enterprise, iConcept Press requests authors and their funding bodies to pay the publication fee (also known as article processing charge). With their contribution and willingness to share their expert knowledge within our community, authors enable the free distribution of scholarly literature. The standard publication fees is: USD$39/page for the first 16 pages and USD$19/page thereafter.

If the submitting author's institute is our member, the publication fee could be waived or reduced. For more information, please follow this link: Institutional Membership Schema.

We routinely waive charges/reduce publication fee for authors from low income countries. For other countries, waivers or discounts are granted on a case-by-case basis to authors with insufficient funds. Authors can request a waiver or discount during the submission process.

If you have any question, please feel free to contact us.

  2. Make Sure Your Manuscript is Accurate and Readable

Many authors find that they need help in writing their manuscripts in English to a sufficient standard. We receive many requests for this type of help from authors and also from editors who are trying to cope with the language problems of their authors. Referees also often request that manuscripts are rewritten before they are able to assess them in detail.

In iConcept Press, we provide language editing services. Language editing services work with the author to correct grammatical errors and other problems with the language of the manuscript. The basic charge is USD$15/page. If a page mainly contains figures, tables or citations, we may not charge that page.

  3. Understand the Copyright Agreement

Copyright on any book published by iConcept Press is retained by the author(s).

Authors grant iConcept Press to publish the manuscript and identify iConcept Press as the original publisher. Authors also grant any third party the right to use the manuscript freely as long as its integrity is maintained and its original authors, citation details and publisher are identified.

Upon submitting a manuscript to the books published by iConcept Press, all authors automatically certify that:

    1. The manuscript is original, has not been formally published anywhere, is not under consideration by any other publisher and does not infringe any existing copyright or any other third party rights.
    2. They are the sole author(s) of the manuscript and have full authority to enter into this agreement and in granting rights to iConcept Press are not in breach of any other obligation. If the law requires that the manuscript be published in the public domain, they will notify iConcept Press at the time of submission.
    3. The manuscript contains nothing that is unlawful, libellous, or which would, if published, constitute a breach of contract or of confidence or of commitment given to secrecy.
    4. They have taken due care to ensure the integrity of the manuscript. To their ‐ and currently accepted scientific ‐ knowledge all statements contained in it purporting to be facts are true and any formula or instruction contained in the manuscript will not, if followed accurately, cause any injury, illness or damage to the user.

Step 2: Submit

  3. Suggest Peer Reviewers

You may suggest potential peer reviewers for your manuscript. You can input their names and emails when you submit your article through the Online Paper Submission System.

Note: intentionally falsifying information, for example, suggesting reviewers who are your staff, students or even yourself, will result in rejection of your manuscript and may lead to further investigation in line with our misconduct policy.

Step 3: Review & Revise

  1. Review

Depends on the length and content of your article, it may take up to 4 months to find a suitable reviewer and another 1-2 months for reviewing your manuscript. Please be patient in this lengthy process.

  2. Revise

After we reviewed your manuscript, we will notify you though email. You can login your account to see the review report. Please revise your paper according to the comments. If you found any comment is not appropriate, please let us know.

Step 4: Publish & Distribute

  1. Publish

Once your book chapter is accepted for publication, you have to upload a final version, a.k.a. camera-ready version. Camera-ready is a term used in the commercial printing industry meaning that a document "does not need any further revision" and "is ready to go to publish".

Your camera-ready version must be editable by us (e.g. a MS Word document). Please do not upload a non-editable document (e.g. a PDF document) to us. You must copyedit your camera-ready article using our template. We provide MS Word Template for MS Word users:

If you are LaTex user, please contact us.

If your camera-ready version does not comply with our template, we reserve the right not to publish it.

  2. Distribution Channels

All books will be published and distributed using the following two channels:

All books will be published as hardcopy books and sold in Amazon.com. Each book has a unique ISBN.
