Dynamics of a Plant-Herbivore Model with Holling Type II Functional Response

Abstract

This paper studies the behavior of a plant-herbivore discrete model along with the behavior of a corresponding continuous model with stochastic perturbation. For this model, the existence and stability of two fixed points are analyzed. Stochastic analysis suggests that the model system is locally asymptotically stable in probability for certain strengths of white noise. The bifurcation diagram and time series plots are obtained for different values of parameters of the model. Numerical simulations show that discrete model exhibits rich dynamics with the continuous model and stochastic version of it.
